Drain and Sewer Line Unclogging in the Outaouais
A clogged drain is not fixed with a chemical product. We locate the blockage and remove it with professional equipment, without damaging your pipes.
What we unclog
Grease, soap, hair or root buildup: every blockage has a cause. We treat it at the source so it does not come back.
- Kitchen and bathroom sinks
- Wash basin
- Toilet, tub and shower
- Preventive pipe cleaning
How the visit works
We start by identifying which fixtures are affected: a single slow sink points to a local blockage, while several fixtures backing up at once points to a shared line. We then open the cleanout closest to the blockage instead of working blind.
Depending on the situation, we use a cable auger matched to the pipe diameter to break through and pull out the clog. We then flush thoroughly and run a flow test in front of you, to confirm the drain is truly clear rather than only partly opened.
Why to avoid chemical drain cleaners
Store-bought drain cleaners rarely dissolve a full blockage. The product sits above the clog, heats the pipe and can weaken joints or older piping. It also makes the next visit riskier for the plumber, who ends up with caustic water in the fixture.
Mechanical cleaning removes the material instead of pushing it along, and it shows what was actually blocking the line: hardened grease, hair, wipes, roots or a sagging pipe.
What affects the scope of the work
Pipe length and diameter, whether an accessible cleanout exists, the pipe material and the nature of the clog all determine how long the job takes. In older Outaouais buildings, cast iron lines and multiple bends slow the cable down.
If the blockage keeps coming back in the same spot, it is no longer a simple clog: it is often insufficient slope, a collapsed section or root intrusion. We tell you plainly rather than repeating the same drain cleaning every season.
When it counts as an emergency
Wastewater coming up through a floor drain, an overflowing toilet, or being unable to run water without causing a backup all need immediate attention. Stop using water anywhere in the building, including the washer and dishwasher, and call us. A slow kitchen sink with no backup elsewhere can wait for a regular appointment.
After the work
We explain what was blocking the line, where the clog was, and what would help prevent a repeat: collecting cooking grease instead of pouring it down the sink, adding a hair strainer in the shower, avoiding so-called flushable wipes. When it makes sense, we suggest scheduled preventive cleaning for rental units and businesses that put heavy demand on their drains.
